I just hit my head around the ceiling after reading this: The Blu-ray Disc Association has announced that the PS3 is about to be totally compatible with 3D standards.
It is amazing news for Playstation 3 owners, who won't have to shell out money for a new player for 3D movies. According in direction of the newly-released specs, Sony's console will play movement pictures in 3D 1080p, though working with any and each kind of 3D display. That includes LCD, plasma and projection in complete HD, whilst enabling for 2D playback on both present and 3D players. Adding for that fun will almost certainly be 3D menus and navigation, giving Playstation 3 owners the complete futuristic experience.
The crazier part is the fact that most current Blu-ray players will not assist 3D. That means your buddy's standalone Blu-ray player is planning to be useless, whilst you may enjoy PS3 games and 3D films on your exisiting console. It is favourable to piss off individuals owners but you won't hear me complaining. Obviously you may still need to buy a Tv to assist the 3D capability, but hey, half the battle has alreadybeen won. There's no release date for 3D motion pictures yet, but additional announcements are confident to follow. In the meantime, PS3 owners can rest easy and appear forward to the future of watching 3D movies with their console.
